Happy New Year 2009!

I am more excited about this particular New Year than any other in recent memory. We all have suffered these last few months. No one including me has escaped unscathed from the terrible events surrounding the Wall Street melt down. Everything we have taken for granted in the financial world has been turned upside down. Many have lost significant amounts of their retirement income or their jobs or both and we are all stumbling around sort shell shocked.
So why, you ask, among all this upheaval am I still excited? The reason is simple. There is always a feeling of expectation and anticipation at the start of a new year. I still feel that the possibilities are endless for those who are willing to apply themselves. This is the land of opportunity and we will work our way out of this mess like we always do. So as always, I feel optimistic about Jan 1, 2009.
