Using Social Media to Market Online

This morning has been difficult on all the Social Media sites! Twitter went down due to a cyber attack and then everyone rushed over to Facebook to take up the slack. This creating problems for the Facebook site as well.

This precisely why I recommend that all my clients have a Self- Hosted Blog as the center to their Social Media Marketing Plan. On your own Blog you cretae the content and pay for the server to host it. You get to decide who is allowed to comment. If there is a problem with the server you can decide to take your business elswhere. All the social networks are wonderful for driving traffic back to your blog but they can never be effective without that all important hub!

    It is interesting to read the many articles today about social media. I just wrote a blog article about people becoming disenfranchised with Twitter. I agree that a self-hosted blogs are essential to businesses today. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us.
