Its no secret to me why Ford did not need to take any of the government bailout money. As one of the first of The Big Corporations to jump on the Social Media Marketing bandwagon, they are leaving their competitors in the dust!
Congratulations for having the courage to take a serious look at what Social Media Marketing could do for your company and then taking action!
Here are just some high points of their brilliant campaign
- Last Spring Ford Motor Company found 100 people who were active in Social Media
- They gave those 100 people a Ford Fiesta to drive for 6 months – no strings attached
- The only requirement was that they drive the car as they normally would and comment on the experience in the Social Media channels
- So those 100 people drove, and commented and made suggestions about the car
- They became a live focus group to fine tune the Ford Fiesta that will be launched in spring 2011
- On Dec. 2nd when they brought together all the family and friends of the original Fiesta drivers, they even managed to score the World’s Largest Tweetup according to Guinness World Records.
